Former Senior Pastor at the Scarborough Chinese Alliance Church
Matthew Chiu, now retired, was Senior Pastor at Scarborough Chinese Alliance Church, where he contributed to community outreach and spiritual guidance. He also served as a Board Member of the Canadian Chinese Alliance Churches Association, participating in organizational governance.
His background includes experience as a Senior Account Executive at Procter & Gamble Canada, where he focused on client relationship management within the consumer goods sector. He also brings a background in structural engineering, having worked as a Structural Engineer at Reid Crowther Ltd, applying engineering design principles.
Pastor Matthew Chiu holds a Master of Divinity from Tyndale Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Western U, demonstrating applied knowledge of ministry and theology.
Workshop Description
In this workshop, Pastor Matthew Chiu will share insights from over 10 years of leading his former congregation in building lasting relationships with their South Asian Muslim neighbors. Through both virtual and in-person programs, the church has nurtured authentic friendships and shared the love of Christ in ways that are respectful, consistent, and rooted in care.
Pastor Chiu will speak candidly about the breakthroughs and setbacks they’ve encountered in their Muslim outreach ministry, and what has kept their passion for this work alive—even through the challenges of a global pandemic.
