Description
This mosque visit experience includes a pre-visit training led by experienced facilitators to provide cultural context, guidance on respectful engagement, and tools for effective witness; a Meet & Greet with the mosque’s clergy, board of directors, and general manager ; observation of the Friday prayer (salah) and sermon (khutbah), a Meet & Greet with members of the local Muslim community; and a group debriefing session over lunch at a local ethnic restaurant (Optional - lunch not included).
Facilitators
Pastor Lane Davis is an avid ambassador for Jesus among Muslims. He serves as a pastor with the Missionary Church International (TMCI), a church planting network based in the United States with a particular focus on Africa and South America. Pastor Lane has been facilitating the course Bridges-Christians Connecting with Muslims for many years in churches in the Greater Toronto area and online through the LMT network.
Pastor Brian Zegers, founder of the Word of Life Ministry - Muslims and Christians in Discussion: building understanding & overcoming misunderstanding and True Salaam, a Christian YouTube channel that seeks to explain the Christian faith to Muslim viewers and to share the Injeel (Gospel) of Jesus Christ. Pastor Brian has a passion to share the love of Jesus with those of Muslim faith, well expressed in the mission of the Word of Life Ministry, which is "to bring Christians and Muslims together to share the true, life-giving gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the Word of God, the Holy Bible."
